A must-have. That’s how visitors at the A+A Trade Fair described the AeroGuard. Many had never seen such a smart and versatile air quality monitor before. The huge interest underlined what many companies are looking for: certainty about clean air in the workplace.

Among all the stands filled with workwear, helmets, goggles and fall protection, one product stood out… our AeroGuard Air Quality Monitor! For the first time, Plymovent did not present a predominantly black-and-yellow stand. Eye-catching red-orange-green lighting put the AeroGuard in the spotlight — and grabbed the attention of countless passersby.

Highlights of this blog:
• The AeroGuard was one of the few professional air quality monitors at the A+A Trade Fair
• High interest shows a clear need among companies: clean air for employees
• Live demo showcased its ease of use and many smart features
• The AeroGuard is essential for a wide range of sectors, from welding halls to data centers!

One of a kind

International visitors — from Europe all the way to Australia — enthusiastically confirmed that the AeroGuard fills a major need: certainty about air quality. Our booth colleagues were pleased to hear that clean air is becoming increasingly important to more and more companies.

Although a few other measuring solutions were present — like professional gas meters mainly for outdoor use, and one portable unit that wasn’t calibrated — there were very few comparable air quality monitors for indoor spaces. That made the AeroGuard stand out even more: a complete, calibrated and versatile air monitor.

“We constantly heard: ‘Never seen such a professional meter before.’ Many visitors were especially surprised that the AeroGuard measures so many parameters at once in real time. They had never seen that in such a compact device,” says Michel Lighthart, Product and International Sales Manager at Plymovent. “The strong interest once again shows how necessary this monitor is. New distributors signed up right away. They were impressed and already saw opportunities in new sectors for us.”

“Clean air control can be this easy!”

User-friendly

At the stand, customers and industry professionals could try out both the black and limited white edition. The live demo immediately showed how easy the device is to use. Thanks to its user-friendly design, the AeroGuard even won the 2025 Red Dot Design Award earlier this year.

Screens in the stand also displayed the clear dashboard with all 11 measured values. Clean air control can truly be this easy!

Calibrated for welding fumes and exhaust gases

The AeroGuard is ideal for measuring welding fumes and exhaust gases. Michel Lighthart explains: “Welding companies must comply with certain exposure limits to prove that working conditions for their employees are safe. Through a laboratory test carried out by an occupational hygienist, companies receive an official measurement of the milligrams of hazardous particles in the workplace air.”

“The AeroGuard supports this mandatory process. Official lab tests remain necessary, but in between those measurements, our monitor gives a clear picture of the air quality. This allows companies to track conditions daily and make timely adjustments before levels get too high.”

“The LED ring gives an instant indication of the air quality.”

The AeroGuard is calibrated to measure exact concentrations of fine dust in welding fumes and exhaust gases. “It measures the number of particles and their size. Based on that, the LED ring shows the air quality: green for safe, orange for moderate, red for harmful. One quick look at the device — or a notification — tells you whether action is needed. For example, let the AeroGuard trigger a filter or ventilation system when your preferred threshold value is exceeded.”

Data centers and bouldering gyms

At the fair, colleagues Michel, Monique and Dietmar spoke with visitors from all kinds of (surprisingly diverse!) sectors: metalworking companies, businesses with lots of meeting rooms, and even the military. For the military, the AeroGuard was especially interesting for their own repair and maintenance workshops — where welding takes place regularly — and for spaces where exhaust extraction is important.

Dietmar adds: “The AeroGuard is also relevant for data centers. There, it monitors fine dust levels, noise, temperature and humidity.

And what about bouldering gyms? Those climbing halls where you climb without ropes? They also struggle with dangerous fine dust concentrations, according to a recent French study. A lot of dust comes from the wear of rubber climbing shoes — not the kind of material you want to breathe in. Temperature and CO₂ monitoring are also important, as many halls have poor ventilation.

I also spoke with a company that produces concrete elements for railway tracks. They deal with a lot of dust and noise during production. We’ve already scheduled a site visit with them."

Mission accomplished!

After four successful days in Düsseldorf, we travelled home with a great sense of satisfaction. Our mission took another big step forward: clean air in the workplace for everyone. And yes — we forgive the orange peaks in the AeroGuard’s noise readings at the fair! 😊
