Extraction arms remove dust effectively
Micron was looking for an effective dust control device with filters to ensure easy maintenance. Plymovent was challenged to get the dust levels under control.
The KUA is an aluminium tube extraction arm ideal for daily use. It is specially designed to extract fume, gases and oil mist contaminants.
The KUA is not just any fume extraction arm — it’s a proven solution for welding fume extraction arms in industrial environments. The KUA fume extraction arms are the go-to solution for small to heavy-duty workplaces. Designed to extract welding fumes, gases, and oil mist contaminants right at the source, both the KUA-160 and KUA-200 provide a healthier, cleaner work environment. With tube diameters of 160 mm (6.3 in) or 200 mm (7.9 in) and available in 2, 3 or 4 meter lengths, these flexible extraction arms are suitable for a wide range of welding and fabrication setups.
All KUA arms feature smooth aluminium tubing, external elbow joints and ball-bearing-supported middle joints. This makes them lightweight, easy to move, and stable in any position. The 360° hood grip allows for intuitive adjustment, helping operators position the arm exactly where it's needed — in one simple motion.
KUA arms are also widely used as reliable welding fume extraction arms, offering direct source capture to protect welders from hazardous particles. This makes them ideal for workshops that require strict air quality control during intensive welding operations. As our number one best-selling extraction arm line, KUA arms are widely recommended for:
From compact metalworking stations at Mimault Tôlerie Industrielle to large-scale fabrication shops at AJ Engineering, KUA arms prove their versatility and performance daily. Their flexibility and ease of use make them the ideal choice for any environment where welding fume extraction arms are needed to manage fumes and airborne particles effectively.
Plymovent offers two high-performance extraction arm models to suit different airflow needs: the KUA-160 and the KUA-200.
KUA-160 is the go-to solution for small to medium-sized workplaces. With a tube diameter of 160 mm (6.3 in), it is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and perfect for general welding and fabrication tasks. The KUA-160 can be used in two ways:
KUA-200, on the other hand, has a larger 200 mm (7.9 in) diameter and is designed for heavy-duty extraction needs. It allows significantly higher airflow, making it ideal for applications with intense fume generation. This version is compatible with high-capacity fans like the FUA and fixed systems such as WallPro.
Both models support the most common welding processes, including MIG-MAG, TIG, FCAW, and MMAW. They are also available in an ATEX version for use in explosive environments.
For larger work areas or hard-to-reach spaces, the reach of KUA arms can be significantly extended using two smart solutions:
ERC Rail System: The ERC Rail System is compatible with the KUA-160 only. It offers 19 ft (5.8 m) of horizontal mobility—ideal for moving the extraction arm for your workshop along large workpieces like boats, trains, or long welded structures.
These options make the KUA arms even more versatile and effective in dynamic or spacious working environments.

Micron was looking for an effective dust control device with filters to ensure easy maintenance. Plymovent was challenged to get the dust levels under control.
In 2017, AJ Engineering secured its biggest contract to date with a multi-million-pound windfarm deal, this was to fabricate and install the structural steel and cladding.
Prior to Plymovent, another manufacturer’s hose-based exhaust removal system was installed. Some issues with the system included faulty installation, poor service, inadequate system performance and safety concerns.
The service workshop needed a high-quality extraction system to remove welding fumes, grinding dust and oil mist, preventing accumulation in the workshop.
K.S. Smede og Montage, a smith’s working-place, was about to expand their business and move to new premises. They took this opportunity to purchase a new ventilation/filtration system.
